On May 25th, 2020, George Floyd had the knee of a police officer on his neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. He called out for his mother several times during those final moments of his life, despite the fact that she had passed away in 2018. The recordings of that encounter has caused international outrage, protests and, albeit slowly, reform. This song was almost entirely improvised, over the course of 8 minutes and 46 seconds, while listening many times to the audio from those recordings.
While you can choose to pay any amount for this song, including nothing at all, any money I receive from the sale of this track will be donated to the NAACP, in their ongoing fight for racial equality and police reform.
